ACTS 16:1-5
Pastor Rick
Jackson
I. BE CERTAIN
[v. 1]
1. Be
Certain You are a Believer in God’s Way [v. 1, John 20:27]
- Then saith
he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither
thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
2. Be
Certain You are a Believer in God’s Word
[v. 1, Rm.
10:17, 1 Th. 2:13]
-So then
faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
- For this
cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of
God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is
in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
3. Be
Certain You are a Believer in God’s Will
[v. 2-5,
Acts 21:14, Eph. 5:17, 1 Th. 4:3-4]
-And when he
would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.
-Wherefore
be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
-For this is
the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from
fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in
sanctification and honour;
II. HAVE
AN UNFEIGNED FAITH
1. Have a
Sincere Faith [2 Tm. 1:5]
2. Have a Shareable
Faith [1 Tm. 1:3-5]
As I
besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou
mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, Neither give heed to
fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly
edifying which is in faith: so do. Now the end of the commandment is charity
out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
3. Have a Solid
Faith [2 Tm. 1:18-19]
III. BE A
BIBLE TEACHER [2 Tm. 3:15]
1. Teach the
Bible Plain [2 Tm. 3:14-15a]
2. Teach the
Bible Person [2 Tm. 3:15]
3. Teach the
Bible Plan [2 Tm. 3:14-17]
