Pastor Rick Jackson

I. THE BOW [v. 13-15]

1. The Sovereignty of God is Recognized [v. 13-14a]

2. The Saviourhood of Christ is Recognized [v. 14b]

3. The Situation of the Church is Recognized [v. 15] -no soul sleep, no Fatherhood of God & brotherhood of all men

II. THE BENEFITS [v. 16-19]

1. Spiritual Strength [v. 16]

2. Spiritual Stabilization [v. 17] Mixed metaphors- rooted is botanical while grounded is architectural

The Greek word for “dwell” in verse 17 means to “settle down and be at home.“ Though Christ lives in the heart of every believer, He can “feel at home” only in the hearts of those who live for Him. - John Hartog II

Some have made little room for Christ, some give Him more, and in some He has the whole house. Or, viewed from another standpoint, in some Christ is just present, in others He is prominent, and in others again, He is pre-eminent. - Graham Scroggie

3. Spiritual Saturation [v. 18-19] God goes beyond the three dimensions of height, width and length

III. THE BENEDICTION [v. 20-21]

1. References God’s Power [v. 20]

2. References God’s People [v. 20]
