Some years ago, I used to carry jumper cables in my vehicle.
One time this guy asked me if I had some and when I answered in the affirmative,
he asked if he could use them. I was a little unsure, but he said he knew how
to do it. When he hooked them up I heard a loud “pop” out of his battery and I
quickly unhooked the cables, got in my vehicle and left. I’m pretty sure he
fried something in his vehicle and I thank the Lord he didn’t hurt mine. Since
that time when someone asks me if a have cables, I say, “Not with me!” And it’s
true. I don’t carry them anymore. I don’t want someone crossing their wires and
blaming me.
We know that when working with electrical systems that
crossing your wires can be annoying when it doesn't work or catastrophic when
it destroys the object. Many times, people cross their wires spiritually. They
seek God's help without doing things God's way. Or they ignore God's warnings
and are destroyed as a result. We see both these things in Exodus 14 as well as
the success when we do things God's way.

The same Word of God that comforts believers, condemns the
unbeliever.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he
that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God.

3. Sudden Destruction [v. 23-31]
Proverbs 29:1 He,
that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and
that without remedy.
1 Thessalonians 5:3
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon
them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
