TAKE HEED & HEAR
MARK
4:24, 13:23, 31, 33; LUKE 8:18
Pastor Rick Jackson
I. TAKE HEED WHAT
YOU HEAR [Mk. 4:24]
1. Hear the Sower of the Word of God [v. 14, Ps. 126:5-6, Mt.
13:37, Jn. 4:36-37, 1 Cor. 9:11]
-They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth
forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with
rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
-He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good
seed is the Son of man;
-And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit
unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice
together. And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
-If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great
thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
2. Ignore the World, the Flesh & the Devil [v. 15-19]
3. Hear the Word of God [v. 14, 20-24; Luke 6:47-48]
Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth
them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an
house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood
arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for
it was founded upon a rock.
II. TAKE HEED HOW
YOU HEAR [Lk. 8:18] “in what way”
1. Hearing Without Any Faith is Bad [v. 10-12, Rm. 10:17]
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of
God.
2. Hearing Without Saving Faith is Bad [v. 13]
3. Hearing with Attentive Faith is Good; Purposeful Faith is
even Better [v. 14-18]
III. TAKE HEED WHEN
YOU HEAR [Mark 13:23, 31, 33]
1. To Hear During the Tribulation Before the Touchdown
Coming is Good [v. 23-30]
2. To Hear Before the Rapture is Better [v. 31-37]
3. To Hear Right Now is Best [2 Corinthians 6:2, James
1:21-25]
-(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in
the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time;
behold, now is the day of salvation.)
-Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of
naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to
save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving
your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like
unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and
goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso
looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a
forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his
deed.
