Ladies' Bible Study
Mrs. Rick Jackson
We have had some trying times since our last meeting. It is with a great burden that I have been studying for this lesson, and it took me quite some time to know just what to share with you all this evening. I know I often pray that we set aside our burdens and cares and focus on what the Lord has for us in the lesson of the evening, but tonight, it was with those cares and burdens in mind that I specifically felt the Lord would have us to go slightly “off-course” as we look at “U is for – yoU!”
We are often weighed down with our cares and sometimes they can cloud our thinking. I want to give you an arsenal of verses tonight to remind you of how you are viewed in the eyes of the Lord! I have the verses listed on your sheets, but I want you to open your Bibles and look and see for yourself as we go along – this is for you and me to remember – to take out and review and remind ourselves when Satan wants to use us as whipping posts and try and isolate us from the Truth of God’s Word. You are Christ’s child. This is what He says! Are you ready?
- yoU are begotten
1 Corinthians 4:15 -- For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
1 Peter 1:3 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
- yoU are blessed
Psalm 118:26 – Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
Acts 3:26 -- Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
You know, this verse, speaking of Jesus being raised from the dead and being sent to bless us reminds me of one of the professors at Tennessee Temple. Rick has spoken about him in church. When he prayed, he would quote 1 Peter 1:8: “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:” And in his prayer, he would always say, “Father, we are unspeakably blessed, unspeakably blessed!” I really wanted to use unspeakable as my word this time, but I couldn’t seem to get much farther than that!
- yoU are called
Proverbs 8:4 -- Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
Galatians 1:6 -- I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
1 Thessalonians 2:12 -- That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
1 Peter 2:9 -- But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
- yoU are cared for
1 Peter 5:7 -- Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
- yoU are chosen
John 15:19 -- If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
2 Thessalonians 2:13, 14 -- But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:9 -- But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
- yoU are comforted

2 Thessalonians 2:16,17 -- Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

- yoU are indwelt
Romans 8:9-11 -- But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
1 Corinthians 3:16 -- Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Ephesians 4:6 -- One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Colossians 1:27 -- To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Did you take note of Who is in you?

And what is that UNSPEAKABLE gift?

Philippians 1:4 -- Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
Colossians 1:3 -- We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Colossians 1:9 -- For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

- yoU are going to be changed!
1 Corinthians 15:51-53 -- Behold, I shew YOU a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
So when you become weighed down with the cares of this world, take out your worksheet and remind yourself of who “yoU are” in Christ! I recently read a beautiful poem that one of my favorite preachers, Brother Clyde Box, put on his FB page that sums up these thoughts:
Follow Me and I will make you…
Make you speak My Words with power,
Make you channels of My mercy
Make you helpful every hour.
Follow Me and I will make you…
Make you what you cannot be.
Make you loving, trustful, godly
Make you even like to ME.
