One of the highlights of my whole life took place directing tours to Israel back in the 1960's. It was my privilege to lead a tour in the early days when tours just started becoming popular. We had on our tour the grown married daughter of the most world renowned big time athlete in the world. One thing that was so wonderful was the joy of leading her to Christ. I have seen no one more open and receptive to the gospel as she was. What a joy.
With a bus load of people we were headed for Ephesus. For mile upon mile we went through enormous fields of ripe cotton. The fields were almost solid white across the tops. It was a beautiful sight. Suddenly we saw just two men all by themselves, harvesting the cotton with very small hand cycles. I let out a holler to the driver, "stop the bus".
Then I pointed to the people, that is a perfect picture. "The fields are white unto harvest but the laborers are few." Almost everyone got off the bus to take a picture of the verse, "The fields are white unto harvest but the laborers are few." How I wish we could burn that into the heart of every Christian. We could transform the world if every believer obeyed God and give the gospel to every person around them. My idea about it is for each of us to face the fact, we are saved and going to heaven because someone told us how to go to heaven instead of hell. What if the one who did what they did to get us to heaven had not gotten us to heaven? We would be going to hell. That would not be very good. Think seriously about that.
