WHY SOME CHRISTIANS LEAVE JESUS

We are not implying that Christians leave Jesus and then are no longer saved. We are simply stating the sad truth that some of God’s children decide to leave off following Jesus and decide instead to act like the Devil’s children- at least in some areas of their lives.

I. THE WAY IS CLEAR

1. Believe [v. 24-29]

2. Come [v. 30-35]

3. Security [v. 36-40]

II. THE TRUTH IS THE LIFE

1. Christ’s Deity is Foundational [v. 41-46]

2. Christ’s Death is Foundational [v. 47-52]

3. Christ’s Resurrection is Foundational [v. 53-58]

III. THE PEOPLE ARE FICKLE

1. Christ Offends Some in His Narrowness [v. 59-61, Matthew 7:14]

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

2. Christ Offends Some in His Uniqueness [v. 62-66]

3. Christ Offends Some in His Necessity [v. 67-71, Acts 4:12]

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
