I COR. 8:3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
Pastor Rick
Jackson
I. LET
YOUR FAITH BE KNOWN AS A SHINING FAITH
1. Let It
Shine For Christ [Mt. 5:14-16]
Ye are the
light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men
light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth
light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that
they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
2. Let It
Shine With kindness [Eph. 4:32]
And be ye
kind one to another , tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for
Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
3. Let It
Shine With Consistency [1 Tm. 4:12-16]
Let no man
despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in
conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give
attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that
is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands
of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them;
that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the
doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and
them that hear thee.
II. LET
YOUR FAITH BE KNOWN AS A SPEAKING FAITH
1. Let It
Speak Through Your Words [Col. 4:6]
Let your
speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought
to answer every man.
2. Let It
Speak Through Your Deeds [Col. 3:17]
And
whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God and the Father by him.
3. Let It
Speak Through Your Life [Rm. 6:4, Phil.1:20-21]
- Therefore
we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up
from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in
newness of life.
- According
to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but
that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my
body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to
die is gain.
III. LET
YOUR FAITH BE KNOWN AS A SHAPING FAITH
1. Let Your
Faith Shape Your Vision [Pr. 29:18, Mt. 9:36]
-Where there
is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
-But when he
saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted
, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
2. Let Your
Faith Shape Your Separation [2 Cor. 6:14-18]
Be ye not
unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath
righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with
darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that
believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with
idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said , I will dwell
in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my
people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord,
and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father
unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
3. Let Your
Faith Shape Your Giving [Phil. 4:10-20]
But I
rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath
flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. Not
that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am,
therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to
abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be
hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ
which strengtheneth me. Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did
communicate with my affliction. Now ye Philippians know also, that in the
beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated
with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. For even in
Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a
gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. But I have all, and
abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent
from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to
God. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by
Christ Jesus. Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
