ARE THERE THINGS GOD CANNOT DO?

If you search through the Scriptures, you will find many things that man cannot do. Man, apart from Christ, cannot stand, cannot serve God, cannot be saved, cannot please God, cannot inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, cannot cease from sin…

Of God however you will find only three things mentioned specifically that God cannot do. Wait… what? God Who is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent cannot do something? Not just one thing- three things. What could they be?

I. GOD CANNOT LIE [Titus 1:2]

1. Jesus is The Truth [Jn. 14:6, 10:30, Rm. 3:4]]

2. God’s Word is True [Jn. 17:17, 2 Tm. 2:15]

3. God’s Word Can’t Even by Honestly Mistaken [Jn. 10:35, 2 Tm. 3:16, Dt. 32:4]

II. GOD CANNOT BE TEMPTED [James 1:13] with what would you tempt Him? Wealth, fame, power, prestige?

1. Lust of the Flesh [John 4:24]

2. Lust of the Eyes [Hab. 1:13]

3. Pride of Life [James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5] pride is thinking more of yourself than you actually are

III. GOD CANNOT DENY HIMSELF [2 Tm. 2:12-13] herein is the key to the things God cannot do

God is Omnipotent – He cannot deny Himself                                      God is Omnipresent – He cannot deny Himself

God is Omniscient – He cannot deny Himself                                       God is Holy – He cannot deny Himself

God is Just – He cannot deny Himself                                                      God is Love – He cannot deny Himself

God is Righteous – He cannot deny Himself                                          God is Perfect – He cannot deny Himself
