I. WAIT ON THE LORD BECAUSE OF THE COMFORT OF GOD [v. 1-10, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4]

 

1. The Comfort of God is Shown in God’s Saviour [v. 1-5]

 

2. The Comfort of God is Shown in God’s Scriptures [v. 6-8, Romans 15:4]

 

3. The Comfort of God is Shown in God’s Strength [v. 9-10]

 

II. WAIT ON THE LORD BECAUSE OF THE COMPASSION OF GOD [v. 11-14]

 

1. The Compassion of a Shepherd [v. 11, John 10:11-16]

 

2. The Compassion of a Creator [v. 12, Psalm 111:4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.]

 

3. The Compassion of the Spirit [v. 13-14, John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.]

 

III. WAIT ON THE LORD BECAUSE HE IS THE INCOMPARABLE GOD [v. 15-31]

 

1. His Greatness is Unmatched [v. 15-17]

 

2. His Greatness is Unique [v. 18-28]

 

3. His Greatness is Available [v. 29-31]
