Harold Camping and the Rapture
This guy has been telling people for years not to go to church because they are all apostate- that's not what my Bible says- Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
He also claimed Christ would come in 1994 and now claims we can know it will be tomorrow and says the Bible guarantees it! That's not what my Bible says- Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
Harold Camping's false teachings and false prophecies cause unbelievers to mock the Bible [even though what he is teaching is against what the Bible teaches].
Harold Camping's false teachings and false prophecies cause baby Christians to be confused.
Harold Camping's false teachings and false prophecies cause mature Christians to be embarrassed.
Let me be clear-
I believe in the God of the Bible
I believe in the Bible, the Word of God
I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour
I believe in His return as taught in the Bible - including the Rapture
I just don't believe a false teacher like Harold Camping knows much of what he is talking about and furthermore I doubt he believes it, or else why not turn his ministries over to someone else now- to show us he truly believes. He has had offers to do so.

ARE YOU TIRED OF LIVING?
Pastor Rick Jackson
We do get tired don’t we? We think we cannot take another moment. We are like the person who said to someone, “I only have one nerve left- and you are standing on it.“ I recently learned a man I knew in passing, a Christian man, had committed suicide some years ago. What prompts a child of God to do such a thing? King Saul did it, Elijah talked about it, politicians in some states have legalized it, many have thought about it even if they didn’t do it- why? They were tired of living. But my friends, these things ought not be. Why not?
I. THE TRUTH ABOUT OUR SUFFERING
1. Our Suffering is Known by the God Who Cares [v. 1-3]
2. Our Suffering Allows God Comfort [v. 4-5]
3. Our Suffering is Purposeful [v. 6]
II. THE TRUTH IN OUR SUFFERING
1. We Have Hope [v. 7, Ephesians 1:18]
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Philippians 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
Colossians 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
2. Our Hope is Steadfast [v. 7, Hebrews 6:19]
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
3. Our Hope is Knowledgeable [v. 7-8]
III. THE TRUTH THAT IS STRONGER THAN SUFFERING
1. Not Ourselves But God [v. 9]
Genesis 31:7 And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.
Genesis 45:8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
Genesis 48:21 And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.
Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
1 Samuel 23:14 And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.
2 Chronicles 20:15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.
Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
Acts 10:28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
1 Corinthians 3:7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
2. Not Death But Deliverance [v. 10]
3. Not Alone But Together [v. 11]

Quotes of the Week
A fella told me, "The reason people fall into sin is because they deal with the Devil." When you do business with the devil you're gonna be defeated and God comes calling. You can't get away from it, King Ahab couldn't. - Russell Larramore
My daddy taught me- They had taken the measure, they had set the reference and they were plowing straight! - Larramore
Self-pity is a nasty sin and the devil uses it and always starts his talk with "Poor Corrie." - Corrie ten Boom
G.K. Chesterton description of paradox - "truth standing on its head to gain attention"
There are those who hate Christianity and call their hatred an all-embracing love for all religions.- G.K. Chesterton
We don't know enough about the unknown to know that it is unknowable. - Chesterton
It is absurd for the Evolutionist to complain that it is unthinkable for an admittedly unthinkable God to make everything out of nothing, and then pretend that it is more thinkable that nothing should turn itself into everything.- Chesterton
The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and left untried. - Chesterton
You say grace before meals.
All right.
But I say grace before the play and the opera,
And grace before the concert and the pantomime,
And grace before I open a book,
And grace before sketching, painting,
swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing;
And grace before I dip the pen in the ink.
- Chesterton

THE SPIRIT-FILLED HOME
Pastor Rick Jackson
It is not by chance that the Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write about relationships after the command to be filled with the Spirit. No one can be what they ought to be in the marriage relationship, the parent-child relationship or even the work relationship if they aren’t in a right relationship with God. By a right relationship with God I mean a person must be saved by the grace of God, surrendered to the will of God, and filled by the Spirit of God.
I. THE SPIRIT-FILLED WIFE [v. 21-24]
1. It is to be a Voluntary Submission [v. 21-22a]
Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
Titus 2:3-5 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
2. It is a Matter of Christ’s Lordship [v. 22b]
3. It is a Blessed Picture [v. 23-24]
II. THE SPIRIT-FILLED HUSBAND [v. 25-30]
1. Love Her Sacrificially- [v. 25] - with a High Pattern
2. Love Her Scripturally- [v. 26-27] - with a Higher Purpose
3. Love Her Selflessly- [v. 28-30] - with a High Regard
III. THE SPIRIT-FILLED HOME [v. 31-33]
1. The Plan from the Beginning [v. 31, Genesis 2:23-24]
2. The Picture for the Believers [v. 32]
3. The Personification of the Behavior [v. 33]
SOLOMON’S REQUEST
Pastor Rick Jackson
This is one of those “I wish I had said that” kind of things. It was a great request by why was it a great request? What was the basis for the request, I mean, how did Solomon know to make that request? And if you know the story of Solomon he did not end up as well as he started and his son blew it even worse, to coin a phrase, “What’s up with that?!” The answers my friends are not blowing in the wind but are available in the Word of God.
I. THE GREATNESS OF THE REQUEST [v. 7-12]
1. Shown by His Recognition of God’s Grace [v. 7-8]
2. Shown by His Reliance on God’s Word [v. 9]
3. Shown by His Realization of God’s Absolute Necessity [v. 10-12]
Is this not what Jesus was teaching in John 15:1-7?
II. THE BASIS OF THE REQUEST [Pr. 4]
The Teaching of King David
1. Live It [v. 1-4]
2. Long For It [v. 5]
3. Love It [v. 6]
III. THE DEFILEMENT OF THE REQUEST [Pr. 4:20-27]
Solomon wisely asked for wisdom and then foolishly didn’t follow it. Consequently his son Rehoboam did not live wisely. Consider:
1. Solomon Listened to the Wrong Influences [I Kings 11:1-3]
2. Solomon Lived the Wrong Lifestyle [I Kings 11:4-5]
3. Solomon Left the Wrong Example [I Kings 11:6-13]

“Billions of dead things buried in rock layers, laid down by water all over the earth.” - Ken Ham

“It’s designed to do what it does do and what it does do it does do well doesn’t it, don’t you think? I think it does, do you, I do, hope you do too, do you?” - Ham
The Bible was not given to increase our knowledge but to change our lives. - D.L. Moody
Trials teach us what we are; they dig up the soil, and let us see what we are made of. --Charles Spurgeon
If you want to do good in these times, you must throw aside indecision, and take up a distinct, sharply–cut, doctrinal religion. If you believe little, those to whom you try to do good will believe nothing. The victories of Christianity, wherever they have been won, have been won by distinct doctrinal theology; by telling men roundly of Christ's vicarious death and sacrifice; by showing them Christ's substitution on the cross, and His precious blood; by teaching them justification by faith, and bidding them believe on a crucified Savior; by preaching ruin by sin, redemption by Christ, regeneration by the Spirit; by lifting up the brazen serpent; by telling them to look and live—to believe, repent, and be converted. This—this is the only teaching which for centuries God had honored with success, and is honoring at the present day both at home and abroad. - J.C. Ryle
Because marriage comes from God above and not from man or beast below, it involves moral, not merely physical, problems. A sin against the commandment of purity is a sin against God, not merely the outraging of convention, the thoughtlessness of youth, the evidence of bad taste. - Walter Maier
We think of television, which laughs at fidelity and makes light of even the most perverted lifestyles. If I were asked to pick the single most destructive feature of secular American life, I would without hesitation name television. It destroys the home, beginning with the proper and necessary communication among the members of it. In place of normal, relating individuals, it forms people who only think of themselves- of achieving "me-first," pleasure-oriented, materialistic and immediate gratification lifestylke. - Jmaes Montgomery Boice
Marriages which are dependent on [romantic] love fall apart, or at best are in for a stormy time of it. But marriages which consistently look back to their vows, to those wild promises made before God, and which trust Him to make sense out of them, find a continual source of strength and renewal. - Mike Mason

LIFE IN THE PRESENCE OF DEATH
Pastor Rick Jackson
I. FACE THE FACTS [v. 1-4]
1. Death is No Respecter of Persons [v. 1, Romans 5:12]
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
2. Death is No Restrainer of God’s Plan [v. 2, Acts 2:24]
Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
3. Death is No Revoker of God’s Promises [v. 3-4, 2 Peter 3:13]
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
II. HAVE FAITH IN GOD [v. 5-8]
Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
1. Faith in God’s Presence [v. 5, Hebrews 13:5]
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor ° forsake thee.
2. Faith in God’s Purpose [v. 6, Romans 8:28]
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Ephesians 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began .
3. Faith in God’s Principles [v. 7-8, Hebrews 5:12]
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
III. PUT FEET TO YOUR FAITH [v. 9]
1. Be Strong [v. 9, 10:25, 17:13]
2. Be Courageous [v. 9, 18 - the courage of your convictions]
3. Be Not Dismayed [v. 9, Joshua 8:1]
And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land:
Joshua 10:25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.
1 Samuel 2:10 The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.
1 Samuel 17:11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.
