THE BLOOD

EXODUS 12:1-13

Pastor Rick Jackson

There are those who do not like the mention of the blood but my friends that is as wrong as wrong can be. You can be sure that this preacher will always rejoice in “The Blood, the Book and the Blessed Hope.”

I. JESUS’S BLOOD TYPE

1. Innocent Blood [Mt. 27:4, 24]

- Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. – Judas Iscariot

- When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

2. God’s Blood [Acts 20:28]

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. – Paul

3. Precious Blood [1 Pt. 1:18-19]

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

II. JESUS’S BLOOD WORK - By the blood we have:

1. Remission of Sins [Mt. 26:28]

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.- Jesus

2. Propitiation (satisfaction of debt) [Rm. 3:24-25]

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

3. Justification [Rm. 5:8-9] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

4. Redemption [Eph. 1:7, Col. 1:14]

- In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

- In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

5. Been Made Nigh [Eph. 2:13]

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

6. Been reconciled [Col. 1:20-22]

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

7. Been washed and cleansed [Rev. 1:5, 1 Jn. 1:7]

- Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

- the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

III. JESUS CHRIST DID ALL THIS AND MORE:

1. and He Did it Willingly [John 10:15-18]

As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father

2. and he Did it Lovingly [John 15:13]

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

3. and He Did it Graciously [2 Cor. 8:9]

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
