LUKE 19
Pastor Rick

I. THE SAVIOUR
[v. 1-10]
1. Of
Seekers [v. 1-5, Isaiah 55:6]
Seek ye the
LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
2. Of
Sinners [v. 6-7, Jn. 1:11-12]
He came unto
his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them
gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
3. Of
Spiritually Lost [v. 8-10, Mark 4:38] apollumi- to destroy fully (reflexively,
to perish, or lose), literally or figuratively:--destroy, die, lose, mar,
perish.
And he was
in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say
unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
II. THE KING
1. The King’s
Journey [v. 11-15]
2. The King’s
Judgment of His Servants [v. 15-26, 2 Cor. 5:10-11]
For we must
all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the
things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made
manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
3. The
King’s Judgment of His Enemies [v. 27-29, Rev. 20:11-15]
III. THE LORD
OF GLORY
1. The Entrance
Foretold [v. 29-40, Zech. 9:9]
Rejoice
greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King
cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an
ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
2. The End
Forewarned [v. 41-44]
3. The
Emphasis Finalized [v. 45-48]
“MY HOUSE” /
in his early ministry Jn. 2:13-17] He called the Temple “My Father’s house”/
