Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Matthew 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of
Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of
confusion
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for
whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous

I. GOD IS NOT DEAD!
1. God, as God, Cannot Die [Rm. 6:23, 10:3, James 1:13]
For the wages of sin is death;
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going
about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto
the righteousness of God.
Let no man say when he is tempted , I am tempted of God: for
God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
2. God, as Man, Did Die [Hebrews 1:1-2, 8; 2:9-18]
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time
past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us
by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the
worlds;
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever
and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the
angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by
the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom
are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory,
to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he
that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he
is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my
brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. And again, I
will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath
given me. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he
also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might
destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them
who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For
verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of
Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his
brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things
pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in
that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that
are tempted.
3. God the Saviour Has Conquered Death [Rev. 1:5, 17-18]
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the
first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him
that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid
his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore , Amen;
and have the keys of hell and of death.
II. GOD IS NOT DISTANT!
1. God is Interested [Ps. 8:1-9]
2. God is Involved [Jn. 3:16, Philippians 1:6]
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun
a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
3. God is Indwelling His People [Eph. 1:13-14, 4:30]
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye
were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our
inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise
of his glory.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed
unto the day of redemption.
III. GOD IS NOT IRRELEVANT!
1. Salvation is Necessary [Heb. 2:3]
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which
at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them
that heard him;
2. Direction is Needed [Prov. 3:5-6]
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct
thy paths.
3. Edification is Nurturing (Nourishing) [Eph. 4:11-16]
