Pastor Rick Jackson
There have been those who designated themselves as a king of
kings as the man in:
Ezra 7:12
Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God
of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.
There are those whom God designated as "a king of
kings" because he was sent by God to defeat and rule over, other kings, as
explained in:
Ezekiel 26:7 For
thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of
Babylon, a king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and
with horsemen, and companies, and much people.
Since God has designated him as such even Daniel calls
Nebuchadnezzar "a" king of kings to his face in:
Daniel 2:37 Thou,
O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom,
power, and strength, and glory.
On his road to faith, Nebuchadnezzar realizes where true
power is derived from and he admits it in:
Daniel 2:47 The
king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God
of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest
reveal this secret.
So that brings us to "THE"
King of kings - not "a" king of kings.
1 Timothy 6:15
Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the
King of kings, and Lord of lords;
Revelation 17:14
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is
Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and
chosen, and faithful.
Revelation 19:16
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND
LORD OF LORDS.
Here is the One in whom all will one day acknowledge as the
King of kings, and Lord of lords.
I. HERE IS ONE WHO IS
KING BY HIS ROYAL BIRTH [MT. 2:1-2]
1. The Wisest of Men recognize this fact [v. 1]
2. The Wisest of Men relate this fact [v. 2a]
3. The Wisest of Men respond to this fact [v.2b, 11]
II. HERE IS THE ONE
WHO IS KING BY HIS ROYAL BEARING
Does He carry Himself as a King?
1. Nathanael, the guiless Israelite said so [John 1:47-51]
2. The Multitudes He fed thought so [John 6:11-15]
3. Many People thought so as He fulfilled Prophecy [John
12:12-16]
4. Pilate, an authority on kings, became convinced He did
[John 18:33-39, 19:8-22]
III. HERE IS ONE WHO
IS KING BY HIS ROYAL BATTLES
1. He Conquers Death by His Death [Jn. 19:38-40, Acts
17:2-8, 1 Corinthians 15:20-26]
2. He Continues in His Appearance [1 Tm. 6:13-16]
3. He Concludes in His Crusade [Rev. 15:3-4, 17:11-14,

In the words of Brother S.M. Lockridge, “That’s my King!”
