Quotes of the Week

Many pastors criticize me for taking the Gospel so seriously. But do they really think that on Judgment Day, Christ will chastise me, saying, "Leonard, you took Me too seriously"? - Leonard Ravenhill

God has the right to whatever He wants whenever He wants it. It is all His, because an owner has rights, and I, as a steward, have only responsibilities. - Ron Blue

What would your nickname be when it comes to prayer? "Prayer warrior" or "prayerless worrier"? Let me leave you with these four reasons why prayer is important. First, it makes us WAIT. We can't earnestly pray and, at the same time, rush out ahead of God. We have to wait till we finish praying. Second, it clears our VISION. It enables us to see situations through God's eyes and not our own. Third, it quiets our HEARTS. We cannot continue to worry and pray at the same time. One will weed out the other, depending on which one we choose. Fourth, it activates our FAITH. And with that faith comes an attitude of hope and peace which replaces the petty and critical attitude that comes when we haven't prayed. - Charles R. Swindoll

Critics always run with other critics. They like to be around people who will reinforce their views. - Charles R. Swindoll

Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
This is a quotation from the last book in the Old Testament (Malachi 1:2, 3). This statement was not made until the two boys had lived their lives and two nations had come from them. A student once said to Dr. Griffith Thomas that he was having trouble with this passage, for he could not understand why God hated Esau. Dr. Thomas answered that he too was having a problem but his was different. He did not understand why God loved Jacob. - J. Vernon McGee

"Be of the same mind " (Rm. 12:16) suggests that believers have more in common than any other people. They have the same past 9sinners), the same present (salvation) and the same future (sanctification completed). This does not mean uniformity of thought, but rather guided by the same Spirit.- J. Vernon McGee

A believer is not asked to take a namby-pamby position of sunlight and saccharine sweetness. The reason he is not to avenge himself is because God will avenge him. If the believer takes matters into his own hands, he departs from the pathway of faith. The believer is to turn these matters over to God, knowing that the day of judgment is coming. - J. Vernon McGee

Men are not lost because they are hardened; they are hardened because they are lost; they are lost because they are sinners. - James Stifler
