THE STORY OF
CHRISTMAS
MATTHEW 1:18-21
Pastor Rick Jackson
The Christmas story is a beautiful, historical story, but it
is more than that. If all we had was the nativity, if we didn’t have the cross,
the resurrection, the crown and the coming again Christmas would not be worth
what it is today. You see, Christmas is first of all…
I. THE STORY OF

1. Man is Rebellious [Ps. 14:2-3, Is. 53:6, Rm. 3:22-23]
2. Man is Helpless [Pr. 20:9, Jer. 2:22, Jn. 8:34, Rm. 6:16,
Eph. 2:1, 2 Pet. 2:14]
3. Man is Hopeless [Ps. 38:3-18, Eph. 2:12]
II. THE STORY OF
CHRISTMAS IS THE STORY OF GOD’S UNSPEAKABLE REDEMPTION [Mt. 1:20, 2 Cor. 9:15]

4:4-5]
2. God Sent His Son to Die [Jn. 3:16, Rm. 5:8]
3. God Sent His Son to Die to Redeem Us [2 Cor. 5:17, Ga.
3:13, 4:4-5, 1 Pt. 1:18-19]
II. THE STORY OF
CHRISTMAS IS THE STORY OF UNFATHOMABLE POTENTIAL [Mt. 1:21]
1. God Offers Salvation to Everyone [Nm. 21:9, Is. 53:6, Jn.
3:16, Lk. 19:10, Rm. 1:16, 10:13, 1 Tm. 2:3-4]
