I. HE DIDN’T STAY IN HEAVEN [1 John 1:1-3]

 

1. He Didn’t Stay in Heaven Because His Mission was too Important [3:1-5]

 

2. He Didn’t Stay in Heaven Because His Enemy was too Awful [3:6-10]

 

3. He Didn’t Stay in Heaven Because His Love was too Great [4:9-10, John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this…]

 

II. HE DIDN’T STAY ON THE CROSS

 

1. He Didn’t Stay on the Cross Because He Finished the Work [John 17:4, 19:30; Hebrews 4:3, 12:2]

 

2. He Didn’t Stay on the Cross Because He Fulfilled the Word [Luke 24:44-48]

 

3. He Didn’t Stay on the Cross Because He was No Longer Forsaken [Mark 15:34, Luke 23:46-53]

 

III. HE DIDN’T STAY IN THE TOMB

 

1. He Didn’t Stay in the Tomb Because of His Person [Rm. 1:1-4a]

 

2. He Didn’t Stay in the Tomb Because of His Power [Rm. 1:4, John 10:17-18]

Therefore  doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
