I. LIES THE DEVIL TELLS ABOUT SIN

1. “Ye shall not surely die” [v. 4]

In other words- God doesn’t mean what He says – the Bible is not true- you CAN sin and get by with it

2. “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened” [v. 5a]

In other words- God is trying to keep you from enjoying life- sin is beneficial

3. “ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” [v. 5b]

In other words- God is selfish- sinning will make you like God

II. FACTS WE LEARN ABOUT SIN [v. 6-7]

These are non-negotiable truths.

1. Sin will take you further than you want to go.

2. Sin will keep you longer than you want to stay.

3. Sin will cost you more than you want to pay.

III. THE TRUTH ABOUT SIN

1. Man Cannot Cover His Sin [Luke 12:2]

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

2. Man Cannot Control His Sin [Rm. 7:14-25]

3. Man Cannot Conquer His Sin [Rm. 8:1-8, 37]
