LUKE 3:1-14

I. THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD [v. 1-2]

1. God Knows When [v. 1-2a]

2. God Knows Who [v. 2b, Esther 4:14]

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

3. God Knows Where [v. 2c] God have any trouble finding Moses, Phillip, Joseph, Paul, you?

II. THE SALVATION OF GOD [v. 3-6]

1. Preaching for Results [v. 3]

2. Proclamation of Righteousness [v. 4-5, Psalm 116:5]

Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

3. Presentation of the Redeemer [v. 6, Isaiah 44:6]

Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

III. THE EXPECTATION OF GOD [v. 3, 7-14]

1. God Expects Saved People to be Baptized [v. 3] “the criminal was executed for his crimes”

2. God Expects Saved People to have a Change of Attitude [v. 7-9]

3. God Expects Saved People to have a Change of Actions [v. 10-14, Eph. 2:8-10]
