FROM RAGS TO RICHES

1 CORINTHIANS 1:1-9

Pastor Rick Jackson

I. TAKE YOUR CALLS [v. 1-3]

1. The Call of Salvation [v. 2-3]

2. The Call of Sainthood [v. 2]

3. The Call of Service [v. 1]

II. HAVE THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE [v. 4-6]

1. For Salvation [v. 4, Psalm 100:4-5]

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

2. For Saturation [v. 5, Col. 3:15-17]

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

3. For Stabilization [v. 6, Colossians 2:7]

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

III. KEEP MOVING FORWARD [v. 7-9]

1. Maintain Your Vigilance [v. 7, Philippians 3:20]

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ

2. Maintain Your Motivation [v. 8, Philippians 3:14]

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

3. Maintain Your Fellowship [v. 9, 1 John 1:3-7]

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
