AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM

ROMANS 1:13-17

I. AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE WRATH OF GOD AGAINST UNGODLINESS & UNRIGHTEOUSNESS [v. 18]

 

Think of ungodliness as fighting the very image of God in which man was made. Unrighteousness speaks of the acts men commit while knowing the truth. 1 Jn. 5:17 declares, “All unrighteousness is sin.”

 

1. The Truth is that God Is [v. 19, Heb. 11:6]

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

 

2. The Truth is that God Is Creator [v. 20]

 

3. The Truth is that God is Worthy to be Glorified (recognized, honoured) [v. 21]

 

II. AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE FOOLISHNESS OF MEN

 

1.  Promoting the Creature while denigrating the Creator [v. 21-23]

 

2.  Perverting their Bodies [v. 24-27]

 

3.  Perverting their Minds [v. 28-32]

 

III. AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE PERFECT PRONOUNCEMENT OF GOD

 

1. No Excuse [2:1-2]

 

2. No Escape [2:3-5]

 

3. No Exceptions [2:6-12]

 

IV. GOD HAS THE SOLUTION [6:23]

 

1. God Has the Solution For the Individual [Rm. 1:16, 10:9-13]

- For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

-That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

 

2. God Has the Solution for the Nation [2 Chronicles 7:14]]

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
