CHRIST THE MASTER

JOHN 13:12-17

Pastor Rick Jackson

I. CHRIST THE MASTER HUNTER

1. His Purpose [Luke 19:10]

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
There was a time when I was lost in sin. The Bible says, Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
The bad news is that we are all sinners and if we pay for our own sin we have to go to Hell and stay there forever. The Good News is that God loves us and sent Jesus to pay the price for us.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

2. His Passion [Luke 15:1-7, John 3:16]

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

3. His Persistence [Luke 15:8-10]

II. CHRIST THE MASTER OF MANY TRADES

1. The Master Farmer [Mt. 13:24-30, 36-43]

Every farmer and gardener knows crops don't all come up at the same rate. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

2. The Master Fisherman [Matthew 4:19, Luke 5:1-11, Jn. 21:1-13]

Jesus met some professional fishermen on the shores of Galilee one time and told them, And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

3. The Master Philanthropist [Acts 10:38]

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

III. CHRIST THE MASTER CARPENTER

1. He Made the Worlds [Jn. 1:1-3, 10-12, Hebrews 1:2]

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

2. He is Building the Church [Matthew 16:18]

I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

3. He is Preparing a Place [John 14:1-6, 1 Corinthians 2:9]

But as it is written , Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
