Question of the Week - What about God's Created Order?! 🌈
From the highly recommended: Answers in Genesis <www.answersingenesis.org>

John R. Rice Quotes of the Week
Oh, marriage out of the will of God is a tragedy unspeakable. And always a marriage of a saved person and a lost person is out of the will of God. - John R. Rice
Oh, Christians should be glad to suffer for Jesus.
These days are not crowning days; these are cross days. And these are days to go outside the camp to Jesus bearing His reproach. And "if we suffer, we shall also reign with him" (II Tim. 2:12). - John R. Rice
When I come to ask things from God, I am a poor, weak kind of a child, and I don't always know God's will and don't know what is right. But when I find out what Jesus wants, I can honestly ask in Jesus' name. - John R. Rice
No matter what you believe about a ferryboat, it will not take you across the river until you get on it.
And no matter what you believe about Jesus Christ, He cannot be your Saviour until you trust Him. Saving faith means that you must depend upon Jesus personally; that you risk Him, rely upon Him, commit yourself to Him. - John R. Rice
We should remember that the only kind of men that God has to use are imperfect men. Dr. J. B. Gambrell, famous Southern Baptist of a generation ago, used to say, "God can hit some mighty straight licks with some mighty crooked sticks." And I am glad that God in mercy puts His treasure in earthen vessels. I am glad that He calls people to preach and counts them worthy who are unworthy, as Paul said he was. - John R. Rice
Christians may expect trouble when they go out and out into Spirit-filled, aggressive soul winning and into any aggressive fight against Satan and wickedness and unbelief.
One preacher said to me, "You talk about the Devil as if he were a person. You speak about Satan being against your work. Why do you think Satan does not attack and bother me?"
I answered in the familiar cowboy language of my childhood, "If you twisted the Devil's tail as much as I do, he would hate you, too." - John R. Rice
Only a rotten heart full of sin and love for sin can keep anybody away from Jesus Christ! If you today are not a Christian, if you did not run to Jesus the first time you ever heard about His love and mercy, then you are a blackhearted sinner. You love sin; you choose sin; and you purposely, deliberately turn your wicked heart away from righteousness, and walk into the darkness and wickedness of sin! Nothing in the world shows a wicked heart like staying away from Christ. - John R. Rice

HAVE FAITH IN GOD!
MARK 11:22 And
Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Pastor Rick Jackson
We need faith in God for special needs, we need faith in God
for the rough times. But we need faith in God for everyday... for ordinary
times... for life in general. Jesus here made a blanket statement in response
to the disciples noticing a miracle Jesus had performed as a matter of course.
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
I. THE GREAT
IMPORTANCE OF FAITH
1. No-one can please God without it! [Heb. 11:5-6]
It is the first requirement to do
anything pleasing to God. Without faith---
-one cannot be saved
-one cannot pray acceptably
-one cannot live victoriously
2. Faith is plainly commanded as a duty! [Mk. 11:22]
John 20;27 Then saith he to Thomas,
... be not faithless, but believing.
3. Unbelief is a Sin! [Hebrews 3:12]
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil
heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God
Romans 14:23b ...for whatsoever is
not of faith is sin.
Mark 16:14 Afterward he appeared
unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and
hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he
was risen.
4. Faith can get anything in the universe with nothing
impossible!
Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto
them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as
a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to
yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Mark 9;23 Jesus said unto him, If
thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto
you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them,
and ye shall have them.
James 5:15 And the prayer of faith
shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed
sins, they shall be forgiven him.
FAITH FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL ITEM--- faith for salvation won't
get you a job, etc.
II. WHAT IS FAITH?
1. Faith is a certain conviction, an evidence that we will
get the thing we hope & ask for [Hebrews 11:1]
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence
of things not seen.
2. Not every confidence, feeling or assurance we have is
faith in God
-people make a false assumption of
salvation based on baptism, church membership, good works, etc.
That's not Bible saving faith. [Lk.
18:9-14]
-like the lady that prayed for a
girl but got a boy, God didn't lie, she wasn't given assurance by God for a
girl even though she thought she had
begged enough, she had faith in her prayers not faith in God
-sometimes self-deception is called
faith
3. It is only as we come to know the will of God through the
Word of God and the Spirit of God that we can have faith in particular matters!
Jn. 3:36, 6:37 - saving faith takes
God at His Word
Faith in God is faith based on the
Bible, or the clear leading of the Holy Spirit. It is always based upon what
God has promised and it NEVER goes against His Word!
Faith is not a way of getting
things God doesn't want us to have.
Faith is a way of getting things
God wants and plans for us to have.
Find a clear promise in God's Word that He will do such a
thing and believe and depend upon it--- then you have trusted God and your
faith will be rewarded with the thing promised. If you are clearly led by the
Spirit of God that a prayer request is in God's Will, will honor God, and that
He will do it--- then that is faith in God and He will do it!
If someone says they had faith in God and still insist they
didn't get it... be sure they did not have true faith in God. True faith in God
is always rewarded. God keeps His promises. Faith is the assurance that God
will do a thing because He has promised to do it. Faith is believing God.
4. Faith may be based on a known mercy of God without a
definite promise. [Matthew 15:22-28]
But remember- God's wisdom is
higher than ours. What we think would be mercy to have God may know to not be
right for us!
III. HOW TO EXERCISE
FAITH & GROW GREATER FAITH IN GOD
1. Learn the Word of God [Rm. 10:17]
-it's true - because faith is based
on God's promises
-it's tried - because the more you
are in the Word the more familiar you become with God [Psalm 37:4]
Delight thyself also in the LORD;
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
-it tunes us to Him- Proverbs 28:9
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be
abomination.
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my
words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
2. Fully surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit and to
the will of God [1 John 3:20-22] Sin will kill faith!
3. Act on the faith you have.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS NOT CHANGED
HEBREWS 9:1-14
Pastor Rick Jackson
I. THE PERSON OF THE
HOLY SPIRIT HAS NOT CHANGED
1. The Holy Spirit is a Person with Personality [not a “thing”]
Isaiah 63:10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit:
therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
Romans 15:30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus
Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me
in your prayers to God for me;
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God,
whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Philippians 2:1 If there be therefore any consolation in
Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels
and mercies,
2. The Holy Spirit is God, equal to the Father and the Son
Acts 5:3-4 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled
thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the
land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it
not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou
hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
2 Cor. 13: 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the
love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen
Eph. 4:4-6 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are
called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God
and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
3. The Holy Spirit’s Ministry is Vital to Salvation [Heb.
9:14]
Luke 1: 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The
Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow
thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be
called the Son of God.
Rom. 8: 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus
from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also
quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
II. THE WORD OF THE
HOLY SPIRIT HAS NOT CHANGED
1. He Testified Beforehand [1 Pt. 1:10-12]
Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched
diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching
what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did
signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory
that should follow. Unto whom it was
revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things,
which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you
with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to
look into.
2. He Moved the Writers [2 Pt. 1:20-21]
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of
any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will
of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
3. He Inspired the Scriptures [2 Tm. 3:16]
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness:
III. THE WORK OF THE
HOLY SPIRIT HAS NOT CHANGED
1. He Works with Believers [John 14:16-17, 26]
2. He Works with the Trinity [John 15:26]
3. He Works with Unbelievers [John 16:7-15]

Quotes from Dr. John R. Rice
As the body needs various elements to supply its need: protein, carbohydrates and vitamins, liquids and solids, so every Christian needs every line in the Bible and the help of every teaching of the Word of God. Men ought to live by the Bible. We ought to feed our souls and strengthen our characters day by day by taking in the blessed Word of God. No wonder the psalmist said, "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee"(Ps. 119:11). - John R. Rice
There are some people whom, we think foolishly, believe it would honor God for them to let themselves be bitten by rattlesnakes and thus prove their faith. I think that is a foolish tempting of God. No wonder many have died because of presumption in this matter. - John R. Rice
I know we are not to be like those who get drunk, those who commit adultery. I know we are not to tie in with them as our best friends and curse when they curse and drink when they drink and so be like them. We are not to be yoked up with them as our best friends. A Christian is not to marry that kind of person, yet we are surely to love sinners everywhere and try our best to win them. We should remember Jesus said, "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice." - John R. Rice
The dear Lord Jesus is close to every troubled heart. He is anxious to hear the cry of anybody who is in need. It is not just good people, but troubled people, sinful people who are encouraged to cry to Jesus for help. So if sometimes you do not deserve God's help, then let that Syrophenician woman be a good reminder that God has a tender heart and the Saviour loves people in trouble and is always able to help. - John R. Rice
The first part of the events of the second coming, when Christ will come to call out His own from the world, and raise the Christian dead and change the Christian living, that is a secret known only to God. And Christians should be prepared for it. - John R. Rice
God in His goodness seeks to woo and win the love of sinners by His mercy. The goodness of God is simply calling you to repentance. Every meal that you eat is the call of God to love Him. Every night's rest that leaves you fresh and vigorous is God's plea that you turn your face toward Him and serve Him. If you have a job, if you have good health, if you have a good name, if you have a home- whatever the mercy your heart is grateful for today, then remember that God gave it, gave it as a love gift to turn your heart toward Him! - John R. Rice
Psalm 119:63: "I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts." Of course there are none who perfectly, without a sin or failure, keep the precepts of God. But God loves and counts the heart intent and the holy desire here, and so should we.
In other words, I am for God's people who believe the Bible, who love Jesus Christ, who try to win souls. I am against the crowd that is against Christ and the Bible. - John R. Rice

IF YOU'RE HAPPY AND YOU KNOW IT SAY "AMEN!"
1 Kings 8:54-66
Pastor Rick Jackson
Christians ought be the happiest, most glad people in all
the earth. I realize we ought be joyful and that you can have joy when you
can't have happiness but really we ought be happy most, if not all, of the
time!
Well, what have we got to be happy about? Brother Ronald's
in the hospital again, my bunions are hurting, the kids are fussy, it's hot
outside and my sweetheart is upset with me. I've got one word for you...
"SO?"
So? That's right, so! Let's look in this section of
Scripture and be reminded of a few things that ought make us happy.
1. I'M HAPPY THERE'S
A GOD IN HEAVEN! [v. 54]
You know what? I have never seen a truly happy atheist. They
are always upset because they see something that reminds them of the God they
don't believe in! Isaiah 57:21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
2. I'M HAPPY THERE'S
A GOD IN HEAVEN THAT FORGIVES THOSE THAT CALL UPON HIS NAME! [v. 33-34, Romans
10:9-13]
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall
call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered:
I'm so happy and
here's the reason why, Jesus took my burden all away. Now I'm singing as the
days go by, Jesus took my burden all away. Once my heart was heavy with a load
of sin, But Jesus took the load And gave me peace within. Now I'm singing as
the days go by, Jesus took my burden all away.
3. I'M HAPPY THERE IS
A GOD IN HEAVEN THAT LISTENS TO MY PRAYERS! [v. 54]
Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew
thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of
grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
4. I'M HAPPY THERE IS
A GOD IN HEAVEN WHO KEEPS HIS PROMISES! [v. 55-56a]
2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and
precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5. I'M HAPPY THERE IS
A GOD IN HEAVEN WHO GAVE US HIS WRITTEN WORD! [v. 56b]
2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the
will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
3:15-16 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is
salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given
unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them
of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they
that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures,
unto their own destruction.
6. I AM HAPPY THERE
IS A GOD IN HEAVEN WHO WILL NOT FORSAKE HIS CHILDREN [v. 57]
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness;
and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never
leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Where did He say that?
Deuteronomy 4:31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;)
he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy
fathers which he sware unto them.
7. I AM HAPPY THERE
IS A GOD THAT MAINTAINS THE CAUSE OF HIS PEOPLE [v. 58-59]
Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That
he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he
might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or
any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. [Eph. 5]
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he
which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus
Christ:
1 Timothy 1:16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that
in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to
them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the
new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions
that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the
promise of eternal inheritance.
8. I'M HAPPY THERE IS
A GOD WHO HAS A CAUSE FOR ALL PEOPLE! [v. 60]
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save
that which was lost.
9. I AM HAPPY THERE
IS A GOD IN HEAVEN THAT ALLOWS US TO SERVE HIM! [v. 61-65]
Psalm 100:2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his
presence with singing.
John 13:16-17 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is
not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent
him.If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
1 Peter 3:14, 4:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness
sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;… If
ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory
and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your
part he is glorified.
10. I AM HAPPY THERE
IS A GOD IN HEAVEN THAT ALLOWS US TO COME TOGETHER TO WORSHIP HIM AND GO HOME
HAPPY! [v. 66]
Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go
into the house of the LORD.

GOD THE SON HAS NOT CHANGED
HEBREWS 13:8
Pastor
Rick Jackson
I. THE PERSON OF
JESUS HAS NOT CHANGED
1. He Was & Is Jehovah God [John 1:1-3, Ps. 121:2]
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were
made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
My help cometh from the LORD [Jehovah or YaHWeH], which made
heaven and earth.
2. He Was & Is Equal to God the Father [John 5:17-23,
10:30-33, 14:8-11]
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I
work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had
broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal
with God. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto
you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for
what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father
loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew
him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. For as the Father raiseth up
the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. For the
Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all
men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth
not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again
to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my
Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying,
For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou,
being a man, makest thyself God.
Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it
sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet
hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and
how sayest thou then, shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the
Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of
myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that
I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works
sake.
3. He Was & Is The Saviour [Is. 43:10-12, Acts 1:8,
Titus 3:4-6]
Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I
have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he:
before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I,
am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. I have declared, and have
saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye
are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is
come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all
Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour
toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ
our Saviour;
II. THE PROFESSION OF
JESUS HAS NOT CHANGED
1. Creator [Hebrews 1:1-2, 10-12]
2. Redeemer [Hebrews 1:3-5]
3. Ruler [Hebrews 1:6-9, Is. 9:6-7]
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the
increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of
David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and
with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will
perform this.
III. THE PREEMINENCE
OF JESUS HAS NOT CHANGED
1. God the Father Says So [Heb. 1:5-6, 8, 13]
2. God the Spirit Says So [John 16:12-15]
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear
them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into
all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear,
that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me:
for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the
Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall
shew it unto you.
3. All Will One Day Say So [Phil. 2:5-11]
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not
robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon
him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found
in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even
the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given
him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the
earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father.
