A man that is an heretic...

March 11, 2014  Thank you for reading my Prophetic Daily Devotionals!   Please visit my website to learn more Bible prophecies being fulfilled in these last days.    Titus 3:10     A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject;   For further study - Titus 3:1-15   Our key verse for today's reading is a very direct statement that is made right to the heart of the issue. At the time that Paul wrote to Titus, around 65 AD, the church had been in existence around 35 years. Already in that short history, heresy had crept into the church.   Paul wanted Titus to travel to locations that had churches up and operating, most likely churches that Paul had started or had at least helped in the "church planting" process.   Now Paul wants his young associate to travel to these locations and set them "in order", while at the same time, selecting and ordaining "elders" as the leaders of these new churches, Titus 1:5. Then Paul sets out for Titus the qualifications for the church leaders, Titus 1:6-9.   Throughout Paul's letter to Titus, this young partner in ministry to the now aging Apostle, was exhorted to challenge others to "sound doctrine". In fact, all of the "pastoral epistles" that Paul wrote, I & II Timothy and Titus, contained this exhortation that it was essential for the church to have "sound doctrine".   This same message is essential for churches today and for individuals in those churches. You and I must have sound doctrine. Notice Paul passed along this message to the churches and their leaders. God's plan is for the church, the local church, to be the "custodian" of sound doctrine.   Our key verse tells us how to deal with someone who comes with heresy, a person who is a "heretic", someone who propagates false doctrine. We are to confront the "heretic" once, and admonish him of his "false doctrine". If need be, we must do it a second time, and then reject that person.   In fact, the Apostle John, II John 10, tells us that we should not allow someone with false doctrine into our house and for sure don't bid them "God's speed", the blessings of God upon them as they travel.   This message is so important at any time in history but especially as we approach the time of the Lord's  call for us to join Him in the "air" at the Rapture of the Church.   Time and time again Paul tells us that false doctrine, heresy in the church delivered by heretics, is a definite indication that the days when Jesus will take us to be with Him in heaven are quickly approaching.     PRAYER THOT: Lord help me to diligently study the Word so that false teaching will never be that which could lead me astray, away from You. JOSIAH’S CORPORATE REVIVAL

If you are a Bible Christian you have a Wonderful Saviour and a Wonderful God. In Job 42:3, Is. 25:1, and Mt. 21:15 the Bible says He does wonderful things. In Psalms 40:5, 78:4, 11:14 and Acts 2:11 we find He had done wonderful works. We learn of His wonderful Word in Ps. 119:129 and His wonderful knowledge [omniscience] in Ps. 139:6. But the chapter that tells us most of His wonderfulness is Psalm 107. This mentions it no less than 4 times. Turn there if you would please and let us look at how Wonderful He is.

A: Investigations of the earth's surface have revealed that it has been divided globally by past geologic processes into what today is a mosaic of rigid blocks called "plates." Observations indicate that these plates have moved large distances relative to one another in the past and that they are still moving very slowly today. The word "tectonics" has to do with earth movements; so the study of the movements and interactions among these plates is called "plate tectonics." Many creationist geologists now believe a catastrophic plate tectonics concept is very useful as the best explanation for how the Flood event occurred within the biblical framework for earth's history. Even though the Bible does not specifically mention this concept, it is consistent with the biblical account, which implies an original supercontinent that broke up during the Flood, with the resultant continents obviously then having to move rapidly ("sprint") into their present positions. Additional work is now being done to further detail this geologic model for the Flood event, especially to show that it provides a better explanation for the order and distribution of the fossils and strata globally than the failed slow-and-gradual belief. Of course, future discoveries may require adjustments in our thinking and understanding, but such is the nature of the human scientific enterprise. In contrast, "the word of the Lord endures forever" (1 Peter 1:25). Bill Nye claimed sea-floor spreading shows long ages, but catastrophic plate tectonics and rapid reversals fit the data better and confirm the biblical account. God's Perspective

Jeremiah 51:17 Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.   God's Perspective   When I read Jeremiah 51, I am struck by the fact that God is speaking through one man, Jeremiah, and addresses kings, kingdoms, and empires. He talks of those of antiquity, those of the present, and those yet unborn.  He speaks of a past and of prophecies as if they were the same day. When I realize that God has a perspective that exceeds my own, it lends a little serenity to my day.   God's perspective exceeds my own in the matter of time. Jeremiah 51:17 says, "Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood and there is no breath in them." Man, compared to God and His knowledge and wisdom, is like a beast. There's so much man does not know.   Jeremiah 51:19 speaks of God being before all things: He is timeless. God spoke the world into existence at the beginning, and He also waits in the future. Remember that while we fuss and worry about time, God is a master of timing. Sometimes we think God is taking too long. Sometimes we think God acts too quickly. But that's because we don't have God's perspective. You can trust God's perspective regarding time.   God also has a superior perspective when it comes to the purpose of life. In verse 20 He speaks to the conqueror and says, "Thou art my battle ax and weapons of war." This shows that regardless of our short sightedness on our purpose in life, God has a grand perspective. God has given us free will, but at the end of the day God reigns. Conquerors like Nebuchadnezzar and Cyrus may have thought that their purpose was to rule the world, but God ruled them. They were nothing but tools in His hands. That's important to remember about ourselves and those around us. God is in control. He has a different perspective regarding time and purpose.   Lastly, God has a different perspective on reward. It is easy to think that the evil prosper and the righteous suffer, but the truth is, God is a God of recompense. In the last part of verse 33 God says of Babylon, "Yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come." And again of Israel in verse 5, "For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God." So whether it be for good or for evil, God is the righteous judge of all creation. There is much you can't see today, and that may worry and hurry you.
