I. BIBLE
FAITH IS NOT ILLOGICAL [Acts 17:2, 18:4, 19, 24:24-25]
-And
Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned
with them out of the scriptures,
-And he
reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
- And he came to Ephesus, and left
them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the
Jews.
- And after certain days, when
Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and
heard him concerning the faith in Christ. And as he reasoned of righteousness,
temperance , and judgment to come , Felix trembled , and answered, Go thy way
for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
1. It is
Logical to Believe Creation Requires a Creator [Rm. 1:20-22]
For the
invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being
understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so
that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified
him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations,
and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they
became fools,
2. It is
Logical to Believe a God that Cannot Lie [Titus 1:2, 1 Peter 3:15]
-In hope of
eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
- But
sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to
every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and
fear:
3. It is
Logical to believe a Book Inspired by a God that Cannot Lie [2 Tm. 3:15-17]
And that
from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee
wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God
may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works
II. BIBLE
FAITH IS NOT COMFORTABLE [Heb. 11:13, 25, 35-40]
1. It is Not Comfortable to Fight the Flesh
[James 4:1-3]
2. It is Not
Comfortable to Fight the World [James 4:4-6]
3. It is Not
Comfortable to Fight the Devil [James 4:7-10]
No, it is
not comfortable, but, it is right.
III. BIBLE
FAITH IS NOT NEGOTIABLE [Heb. 11:6]
But without
faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe
that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
1. Salvation
is by Faith – period! [Rm. 11:6, Gal. 2:16]
- And if by
grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it
be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
- Knowing
that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus
Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by
the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the
law shall no flesh be justified.
2.
Sanctification is by Faith [Jn. 17:17, Ephesians 5:26]
- Sanctify
them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
- That he
might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word
3.
(Acceptable) Service is by Faith [Rm. 12:1-3]
I beseech
you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect,
will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is
among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to
think soberly , according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
