I.FAITH & THE PASSOVER [v. 28]

1. Historically-the New Birth of the Nation

2. Spiritually-the Lesson of the Blood [Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.]

9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
13:11-12 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

3. Prophetically-the New Birth of the Believer [1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:]

II. FAITH & THE RED SEA [v. 29]

1. Historically-identification with a new life, leader

2. Spiritually-identification with a new life, leader [Rm. 6:1-6ff]

3. Prophetically-the Baptism of the Believer into a new life, with a new leader [1 Corinthians 10:1-6ff]

III. FAITH & THE NEW LIFE [v. 30-31]

1. Historically-conquering strongholds and open hearts

2. Spiritually-conquering strongholds [Matthew 16:18 ...upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.]

3. Prophetically-that souls may be won to Christ! [Luke 19:1-10]
