THE FATHER, THE SERVANT & THE BRIDE

GENESIS 24

Besides the obvious historical context it has been said this event is a beautiful picture of the Gospel. The Father seeks a bride for the Son. He sends the Holy Spirit to call out a bride for the Son. The bride steps out on faith at the leading of the Spirit and is joined to the Son.

Then there are lessons for us in the lives of these three believers. They certainly exhibit characteristics that we would do well to emulate in our lives.

4. Believed in presentation [v. 33-49, esp. 33, 49]

5. Believed in pleasing his master [v. 50-56]
