Do you notice your Wife From the writings of Sumner Wemp Do you notice your Wife, give thanks, to God for your wife? "I really loved reading this about what women need and want. You are right. We like to be noticed.   I put all my efforts into looking nice for my husband and he rarely says anything or notices any difference."   Kind sir, wake up and smell the roses. Is this your wife? She is starved to death for YOUR attention, for you to notice her, compliment her, cuddle her, touch her with that tender touch that speaks volumes. A wife fixes her husbands favorite meal. He tears himself away from the TV gobbles down his meal and rushes right back to the TV without one word of thanks or appreciation. Even a pig stops to grunt. Then he wonders why she is unresponsive to him at night. Come on men, get your head out of the sand and pay attention to your dear wife who gave herself, body and soul, to become your wife. Some men say, "I am not made that way." Well, you had better make yourself that way. Your wife was not "made that way" to give her body to you but you expect her to do so. Now get rid of selfishness and give your wife the attention she longs for and looks for from you. Celeste and I ate dinner in a dear Christian couples home. We commented on the wonderful meal the lady had cooked. Her husband piped up and said, "My wife is the kind of a cook her mother always tried to be." That was an A + compliment. A lady told me that after every meal her husband always thanks her for the meal, tells her how wonderful it was and then gets up, gives her a kiss and says, "I love you." I doubt either man was "made that way" but they learned to hit a home run, and you can too.   Prayer:  Father, help us men to get rid of the male ego and give our wives the active attention they desire and deserve. In Jesus name.

The question you asked as to whether Jesus could have sinned or not is an old question that has been discussed many times. The fact is that it was physically possible for Jesus to sin. In fact, He was tempted to sin. The Scripture says He "was in all points tempted like as we are" (Heb. 4:15). Satan made the same trial of Him as Satan makes of us. That temptation was very real, as you can see from Luke 4, of Matthew, chapter 4. If sin had not been a real temptation for Jesus, then the Bible could not say that He was tempted in all points "like as we are."
However, it was morally impossible for Jesus to sin. I mean simply that He was so good that He would not sin. He could have sinned, had He wanted to, but He did not want to. Jesus in His humanity was sinless and perfect because He chose to be, not because He could not have sinned. - John R. Rice

Now what is wrong with chain letters is that they depend on a little rigmarole to please God instead of an honest prayer from the heart. The idea that "one who breaks the chain has bad luck" is a silly superstition. Heathen people make "vain repetitions," but Jesus plainly said not to do so. And any prayer that is not an honest prayer from the heart is unscriptural. - John R. Rice

People are invited to be saved, but they do not turn. So God chooses for salvation and Heaven only those who accept His call, His invitation. - John R. Rice

In Matthew 22:1-14, in the story of the marriage feast, it seems that Jesus indicates many would like to go to Heaven but they do not want to go on the basis that God requires. They want to go in their own righteousness, instead of covered in the white robes of Christ's righteousness. And thus they are not chosen. A lot of people would like to get to Heaven and not go to Hell, but they do not want to repent and be born again so they are not chosen, though they are called. - John R. Rice

For the individual Christian the main thing is to be sure he personally treats other people right, that he keeps close to God and keeps any prejudice and hate out of his own heart. Laws cannot fix the heart. The Christian must seek God to help him do that. - John R. Rice

But when we say that Christ paid for all of our sins, that means simply that we are purchased from eternal condemnation of the soul. We mean that now no one needs to go to Hell since that eternal second death was suffered by Christ in our stead. The Pilgrims

November 26, 2015 The Pilgrims "Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia." (1 Peter 1:1)   These "strangers" to whom Peter wrote his two epistles were actually "pilgrims." He used the same Greek word (parepidemos) in 1 Peter 2:11: "Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts." The word means a resident foreigner, and its only other New Testament usage is in Hebrews 11:13, speaking of the ancient patriarchs who "confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth."   We give honor today to the American "pilgrims," as they called themselves (thinking of these very verses), who left their homelands in order better to serve God in a foreign land. The "pilgrims" to whom Peter was writing likewise had been "scattered abroad" for their faith (note Acts 8:4).   For that matter, every born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ is really just a pilgrim here on Earth, ambassadors for Christ in a foreign land. "For our conversation is in heaven" (Philippians 3:20). That is, we are citizens of heaven (the Greek word translated "conversation" in this verse is politeuma, meaning "a community" or "citizenship"), and are here only for a time to serve our Lord until He calls us home.   And while we are here, we may endure many trials and sorrows just as did those Massachusetts pilgrims. But He nevertheless supplies our needs—just as He did for them—and we ought to abound in thanksgiving, as they did.   Thus, Christians all over the world have cause for thanksgiving every day. Since we are "enriched in every thing," through our Savior, this "causeth through us thanksgiving to God" (2 Corinthians 9:11), and we should be "abounding therein with thanksgiving" (Colossians 2:7). Furthermore, the New Jerusalem is identified as the Bride of Christ (Revelation 21:9, 10), no doubt because it is the eternal home of all who are saved (Revelation 21:24), those who collectively constitute His Bride. But this city has twelve gates, inscribed with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, and twelve foundations, in which are the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb (Revelation 21:12, 14). This surely means that within the city are both the redeemed of ancient Israel and the redeemed of the later Church of Christ. And this in turn must mean that all of these are somehow a part of "the bride, the Lamb's wife."
The Bride, therefore, represents and includes all her attendants and all the wedding guests as well. The symbolism in the parables cannot be pressed beyond its purpose. The real message is that all believers in the true God, both Creator and Redeemer, of all the ages, will one day be restored to perfect fellowship with Him and united with Him forever. Glorious will be the great wedding feast, and blessed indeed are all who are called into it.
Whatever distinctions may exist between the saints of the pre-Abrahamic period, the saints in Israel before Christ, the saints among the Gentiles from Abraham to Christ, the saints of the tribulation, and the saints in the churches from Christ to the rapture (and no doubt these will continue to be identifiable groups even in the ages to come) such distinctions are secondary to the great primary truth that all will be there by virtue of the saving work of Christ and their personal trust in the true Creator God and His provision of salvation. There is only one God (not one God identified with Israel and one God associated with the Church) and that one triune God will be in personal fellowship forever with all the redeemed saints of all the ages. He will dwell with them in the Holy City forever (Revelation 21:2, 3). - Henry M. Morris

A rejoicing Christian is a good testimony. A rejoicing Christian is sometimes a rare commodity. A rejoicing Christian is a Bible Christian. A rejoicing Christian is a less likely to get into sin. A rejoicing Christian is more likely to give God the glory. A rejoicing Christian is a person who enjoys life. A rejoicing Christian appreciates the blessings of God. A rejoicing Christian realizes God allows certain things in our lives for our good even when they may not be pleasant. A rejoicing Christian!
